WidgetBucks: 5,000 Sign-Ups in First Week

Copy the above text into your blog to display the image.

It’s been a wild first week for WidgetBucks, the new ad network of shopping widgets. Launched Tuesday, Oct. 2, WidgetBucks has registered 5,000 publishers, bloggers and affiliates, as well as 25 million impressions during its first seven days.

MerchSense (our contextual algorithm) has also been receiving high marks. Many have responded positively to the Flash-based widgets, and use of our referral tools (125 x 125 ads) are being used widely. According to Technorati, since Oct. 2, hundreds of posts that include “widgetbucks” have been published, including both reviews and referral ads.

The 160 x 600 skyscraper and 300 x 250 rectangle are the two most widely deployed sizes, while laptops, movies, cell phones, game consoles, digital cameras, software and MP3 players are the most popular categories.

Of course, no launch is flawless, and WidgetBucks was no exception. We got a lot of feedback on reporting, our referral program and the widgets themselves. And we’ve taken that feedback to heart. Here are some of the items we’ve completed or are working on:

  • Starting today, we’ll be reporting real-time revenue and revenue-per-click data (along with impressions and click-throughs). Read our full post on the topic.
  • Impression and click tracking is now caught up and operating smoothly.
  • Next week, look for your better indication of your $25 sign-up bonus and earnings by your referrals so you can maximize our referral program earnings.
  • Also next week, we’ll be displaying earnings made from widgets you've since deleted from your site
  • Expanding available categories and sub-categories
  • Testing new widget designs

Thanks again for your interest and registration in WidgetBucks.com. Your feedback is what helps us improve and provide more revenue to you, so keep it coming.

Thanks Matt! Widgetbucks has been good to me so far, I hope the impressive earning per click continue to outperform adsense and chitika!

Many people say Widgetbucks is better than AdSense.

We are in the process of updating our reporting system to reflect the $25, probably end of week or early next. We'll do a blog post when that becomes active. Thanks for joining WidgetBucks.

any ETA on when a report will be available for affiliates wanting to know how much they've earned from referrals?

kukote said...

hopefully, we could see more widget sizes, especially smaller ones enough to fit on the sidebar with width less than 160px.

This is absolutely fantastic!
Those stats are incredible for a program that has only been going one week.
I have added those stats to my Blog now. This is one to keep my Blog readers up to date on. Hopefully that will help bring in more people too this really deserves to do well and beat all the other ad networks out there.
Great to see more improvements on the way and you are keeping your Blog up to date. I will check back often.

I'm a bit frustrated really! Widget Bucks is great but I now cannot log into my account since the first day I signed up when I created two widgets and added them to my websites. It now wont accept my password and the reset password doesnt work either. I've e-mailed you and havent had a reply.

I've even promoted it on my blog and it's number 1 on google.co.uk for "widget bucks". I'd really like to see how my account is doing please!

Hey Matt, kudos on the launch. I just wanted to ask about the updating of widgets from the user interface. Will we be able to reformat the size of the widget as well as change category from the user interface?

All, Thanks for the comments. I'll tackle these top to bottom leading off with my post from 9:20 Wed night: Darren R, be looking for an update within the reporting screen by next week that shows how your referrals are earning for you; kukote, we're in the process of deploying new sizes, including one similar to what you've requested. We'll get a blog post out when those are available, possibly tomorrow or over the weekend; Darren (not Rowse), pls send an email to help@widgetbucks.com and we'll get on that for you - sorry for the inconvenience....

Dean Jutilla said...

Tony Topix: more news to come on editing w/in the UI. Deploying more sizes first and then that functionality will likely follow; Tech of the Day, pls get an email to help@widgetbucks.com (yes, someone who actually reads a help@ email :-) and we'll look into it for you.

Thanks Widgetbucks!

I have a question if i delete the widget wil i lose the money?

Dean Jutilla said...

Hi Admin, to your question about losing money if you delete a widget, answer is no. any money earned from your account (even if from a since-deleted widget, remains attached to that account. Our reporting system will begin showing revenue from deleted widgets shortly. Thanks for your question and for using WidgetBucks. - Dean

Admin said...

hi, thnks for the reply but i have another question, when will be able to see the total of the money earned?

Dean Jutilla said...

Yep, as part of a number of changes, we'll be showing total earned, how much you've made from referrals, money from deleted widgets, $25 bonus credit, etc.

Great news!
Checked back again and I can see you are sorting the teething problems fast!
The support on this is fantastic!
Makes a change from other Sites where
the support is almost non existent.
Great program. I love it. It is earning me far more than any other ad revenue program I have tried.
Thanks for all your hard work. It is much appreciated.

I have a question...How we can request our money?? Because I don't see any "withdraw" or "request" button..?? Or do you automatically pay us when we reach $50..??

Technology of The Day said...

hi
i have problem with my widget
i have create two widget with the same site URl and put one of them in the same Url and the other in another pages
i have clicks in both
the first one the earning is shown but the second just clicks with no revenue

Dean Jutilla said...

Hi Cybermaster, There is not a withdraw or request feature, rather payment is sent 45 days after the end of month's activity, assuming you have reached the $50 threshold (which includes the $25 signup bonus). Payments can be sent via PayPal so be sure to update you MySettings page to request the money that way for faster payment.

Dean Jutilla said...

tech of the day, it sounds like we need to take your issues offline from this comment string. please send a quick message to us at help@widgetbucks.com and we'll get it looked into. thanks. - dean

@videogully.com: WidgetBucks does not support Safari on iPhone simply because the iPhone does not have a Flash Player. - Dean

Widgetbucks is a great PPC tool.

So far I noticed that the mercsense isn't picking up the right category. Also, is it possible that when I set the category the RPC is lower?

What categories have the highest RPC?

Definately would be great to have more sub categories. Also, is it possible to do keywords instead of categories?

MAnny congrats for the hard work

Dean Jutilla said...

@eu: starting next week, we'll be adding a button on My Widgets that will give you access to deleted widgets (and related earnings). Also, today we added My Bucks, which shows monthly earnings for all widgets on your account, both active and deleted. - dean

widgetbucks is going nice way but I hav got some queries.1) what about deleted widgets? 2) the customer care centre doesn't attend our queries 3)what about the payments in my country.Am i going to get payments in USD or INR(Indian Rs.)?
I would also like to inform widgetbucks that refrral programme of adsense is much better they give 255$ for every refrral that reaches the payout of 100$ and 2000$ bonous for 25 refrrals if they reach their payout within their respective 6 months.I would like widetbucks answer my query at ankil19@hotmail.com .Ya the plan of allowing people to have a dilogue for their defense in case of fraud clicks is a very good move better than adsense
