WidgetBucks Reporting Update

We’re listening and responding to the feedback from our thousands of WidgetBucks users. We’ve heard that people are more interested in seeing RPC metrics (Revenue Per Click) than eCPM metrics (equivalent Cost Per Thousand impressions). To accommodate our users, today we've replaced the eCPM column with an RPC column.

And, to make things clear, the summary number in the RPC column will be based ONLY on days which already have revenue reported. This is to eliminate confusion when click data arrives faster than revenue data, causing ratios to look skewed.

We’re also getting questions about delays in reporting. The delay in revenue reporting is due to an auditing process done by the companies who provide our product feeds. The current delay is 48 to 72 hours. We are in active contact with them to reduce this, so you can have faster data to manage your campaigns.

We’ve noticed that some users have placed widgets in out-of-the-way places. This causes your impression count to go up, but the widgets are often never even viewed. Naturally, you need them viewed to get clicks and earn commissions. As a best practice suggestion, we see our top performers have placed the widget in a prominent place on their site, above the fold, where it will be viewed often. They are the ones earning the most.

Thanks again for using WidgetBucks. Please keep the feedback coming, and feel free to comment here on our blog.

Is there anyway you could add the totals from all the widgets in a users control panel so that they can see how much their current earnings are for the period?

Thanks.

Apart from displaying widgets on our blogs, it would be better to refer more people to this program to increase earnings.

I can see that I have referrals yet I do not have much information about whether they are earning or not.

Can we have some info so that at least we can know if we are referring the right people to the program?

Otherwise, some people may just sign up and not doing anything...

Good to see the reporting and can now see the number of refs.
Though would like to have listed by name and maybe how much we have earned from them so far.

What disappointing results. I'm averaging .21 cents per click. What happened to besting Adsense?

For me .25 is way too much than adsense so i'm replacing it now. Thanks guys ;)

I am experiencing the same problem as alan, only half of my widgets are reporting activity. Which means i am missing out on clicks...I know I didnt go the whole day without anyone visiting my sites...

I also haven't gotten any impressions recorded since early on Sunday, and I know that the widget is showing up correctly. Actually, I'll take that back a bit - *one* additional impression for yesterday did show up this morning, but nothing else for yesterday, and nothing for today.

I can understand that you'd have some problems on startup, and that's OK. But if you do have problems, you should let people know about it so they don't waste time figuring out whether the problem is at their end or at yours. And it would be helpful to hear, even if there are problems with displaying up-to-date information, that all of the impressions/clicks data will show up eventually.

It would also be useful to have a technical support page with contact info, so that account holders with problems can contact you directly.

Finally, I have the same opinion about the first version of the widget as some others do: it's too busy, there's way too much animation. It would be good to have a choice between that widget and an alternate that's less animated, e.g. one that fades the product images in and out rather than sliding them hyperkinetically back and forth.

All,
Just published an update to the issue of impressions and clicks not appearing. Our log reports indicate this started early Sunday. The cause has been identified, and as of this morning, it's been resolved. Stats are updating now and should be completely caught up later today. Sorry for the inconvenience.
